Are you living a full, complex life and looking for a steady, accessible approach to mindfulness? This four-week course offers a gentle doorway into practice that meets you exactly where you are.
Whether you're brand new to meditation or looking to deepen an existing practice, you are welcome here.
Course Details
When: Fridays, May 15 – June 5, 2026
Time: 6:00 – 7:30 PM HST
Format: Hybrid (in-person on Oʻahu + online)
Location: The Bodhi Tree Dharma Center, Honolulu, HI
Duration: Four 90-minute sessions

What You'll Experience
Each session includes:
- Two 20-minute guided meditation periods
- A 15-minute teaching on foundational mindfulness skills
- 15-minute Q&A and group discussion
Course Content
Week 1: What Is Mindfulness?
Foundations of mindfulness, attitudinal qualities, breath and body as anchors.
Week 2: Mindfulness of the Body and Breath
Embodiment, grounding, meeting discomfort, stability through awareness.
Week 3: Mettā and the Brahmavihāras
Heart practices as support for mindfulness; cultivating friendliness and care.
Week 4: Integration
Bringing together mindfulness, embodiment, and heart practices; supporting continuity.
Bonus: Optional Week 5
"Continuing the Journey" — a community-guided session for ongoing practice and conversation.
About the Course
This course is designed for everyday people living full, complex lives. You'll learn:
- Simple, sustainable ways to bring mindfulness into daily routines
- How to meet your experience with curiosity and kindness
- Foundational skills for awareness of breath and body
- Heart practices (mettā) that naturally support attention and emotional regulation
The tone is secular, trauma-sensitive, and invitational. Rather than striving for particular states, we encourage meeting yourself as you are and discovering what works for your life.

About Your Teacher
Bob Harrison is a mindfulness meditation teacher in training through the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program (MMTCP). He teaches at The Bodhi Tree Dharma Center in Honolulu and brings a warm, accessible approach to practice.
